Point reyes backpacking

Enjoy a 3 day, 2 night trip in the beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore area. This expedition covers up to 20 miles and nearly 3,000 feet of elevation gain. You’ll travel through coastal forests and along beautiful beaches until reaching Alamere Falls, which is one of California’s most famous tide falls. Spend your nights at a backcountry camp listening to the waves crash in the nearby distance and return feeling relaxed and amazed.  


Trip Itinerary:

Day 1: Starts at Bear Valley and includes 5-7 miles of hiking to reach our backcountry campsite.


Day 2: includes a day hike of 3-10 miles along the Wildcat Beach to Alamere Falls and back to camp.


Day 3: Tavel the 5-7 miles back to Bear Valley after packing up camp where you’ll have a chance to stop by the local visitor center and say goodbye to your new adventure friends.

All necessary permits will be provided. Attendees responsible for park entrance fees, meals, and for their own transportation to the trailhead or designated overnight parking lot. 


This trip is good for beginner backpackers that are capable of doing moderate trails that vary in length with a max of 10 miles in a day. Must be comfortable hiking various terrains and distances with a pack weighing up to 50 pounds.
