Enjoy a 3 day, 2 night trip in a lesser known but equally as beautiful area of Yosemite National Park. This backpacking excursion will have you hiking and camping amongst stunning waterfalls and gorgeous alpine lakes as you wind your way through the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. This expedition covers 27 miles and nearly 6,000 feet in elevation gain.
Trip Itinerary:
Day 1: 10.2 miles of hiking that starts at O’Shaughnessy Dam and ends with a backcountry campsite at Lake Vernon.
Day 2: 10.3 miles of hiking that starts from Lake Vernon and ends with camping near Rancheria Falls.
Day 3: Covers 6.3 miles of hiking that will return you from Rancheria Falls to O’Shaughnessy Dam where you’ll bid farewell to your newfound friends.

This trip is rated for the moderately experienced adventurer. Must be comfortable hiking at higher altitude while carrying a pack weighing up to 50 pounds over various miles and terrain and camping in the backcountry. Previous backpacking experience required.
